Graphic and bold, this imaginative painting suggesting two chairs on a rug is by Aron Hill. Known for his minimalist form and liberal use of vivid colour—this piece features flat rounded shapes of green, purple, turquoise, pink and yellow set against black chairs and highlighted by two intersecting ribbons of white. Hill’s work is inspired by the paintings of renowned Canadian modernists Jack Bush and William Perehudoff.“One of the things I’ve always found challenging in my work is restraint. They obtained a BFA in Interdisciplinary Studies from the Alberta College of Art and Design and their MFA from Goldsmiths College, University of London in 2006. They have exhibited across Canada and in Dubai. Hill’s work is held in private and corporate collections.
