Biography

Neil Clifford integrates bronze and plaster castings with granite or other materials to create natural, archetypal images – appearing both timeless and precious. Clifford was awarded a Canada Council Grant (1990) to study sculpture in Indonesia, and graduated with honours from the Ontario College of Art’s sculpture program (1994), winning three of the College’s highest awards.

The theme of the kayak and animals emerged naturally in Clifford's work. For many years he has made excursions by kayak forming a personal and spiritual bond with the wilderness and waterways of northern Ontario.

Clifford has exhibited widely. His work is held in private and corporate collections in Canada, England, Asia and the US.
