Whisper in the Wind - New Paintings by Andrew Lui

15 September 2018 — 8 October 2018

Andrew Lui is known for his use of gestural lines in vivid colours that bring to life themes of voyage and historical drama. Born in Guangzhou, China, Lui participated in the Chinese Cultural Revolution as a member of the Red Guard before escaping to Hong Kong. Eventually, he made his way to Toronto where he studied at the Ontario College of Art. Lui continued studies in the UK and Italy where he was drawn to Paolo Uccello's epic paintings of the Battle of San Romano (c.1456). His work continues to be inspired by the rich and romantic art and culture of Florence, Italy.

Opening reception for the exhibition is on Sat. Sept. 15 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
