This contemporary abstract colourful painting is by Alice Teichert.

The ephemeral luminous paintings of Alice Teichert have attracted the attention of the world. Her own rich heritage in the arts…a life spent playing music, writing and drawing is expressed in the colour and composition of every painting. When she was only twelve years old, a family friend, a psychologist, asked her to “draw the sound of the music her mother was playing. It was an epiphany.”(Teichert) Over four decades of making art, Teichert has explored the visual language of colour and created her own unique dialogue. Her masterful use of colour is displayed here in two panels in blush, a smoky gray and teal edged in black and a bright red for contrast. Teichert’s work gives the illusion of depth created by adding multiple layers of translucent paint. The colours in this painting evoke a warm, tranquil mood.

Alice Teichert was born in Paris, France in 1959. She studied music, philosophy and visual arts in Belgium and France. Since 1989, she has built an international career with over 40 solo exhibitions in Canada, France, Switzerland, Germany and Australia. The recipient of numerous awards, in 2024, she was inducted into the prestigious Royal Academy of Canadian Arts (RCA) in recognition of her exceptional contribution to visual arts. Alice Teichert’s paintings are held in many private, corporate and public collections worldwide.
