About the Work
Translucent layers of blue, red and gold acrylic descend the picture plane like a shimmering veil that hovers above glyphic script and strips translucent blue and orange. This work titled Quatuor, French for quartet, is one of four paintings in this series. Three remain in this grouping that may be purchased together or individually. The artist refers to the calligraphic marks in her paintings as visual poetry: "Over the course of creating these paintings, a visual notation slowly unfolds into its own form of resonance like ripples of language dancing in space, water and time." ~ Alice Teichert Multidisciplinary artist Alice Teichert is known for bold colours and layered transparencies interspersed with script like line drawings.
