About Quatuor No 04

A cloud of translucent silver and gold on shimmering layers of copper and charcoal appears to float out of the picture plane and towards the viewer. It hovers above mysterious glyphic script underlined by strips of pale violet and teal at the foot of the canvas. This work titled Quatuor, French for quartet, is one of four paintings in this series. Three remain in this grouping that may be purchased together or individually.

The artist refers to the calligraphic marks in her paintings as visual poetry: "Over the course of creating these paintings, a visual notation slowly unfolds into its own form of resonance like ripples of language dancing in space, water and time." ~ Alice Teichert
