About Large Monument with Sun
A landscape re-imagined pared down to minimal form. This is Aron Hill. The Calgary artist’s colourful artwork is inspired by the modernists like Jack Bush. Shapes in soft pink, cerulean intersect with a looped line of red. A lemon-yellow sun figures prominently.“The sun is a central element of my work. It serves as the guiding light to the layers of experience translated onto canvas.” Aron Hill
They obtained a BFA in Interdisciplinary Studies from the Alberta College of Art and Design and their MFA from Goldsmiths College, University of London in 2006. They have exhibited across Canada and in Dubai. Hill’s work is held in private and corporate collections.
