Geometric shapes, bold colours—royal blue, hot pink, yellow and a single stroke of orange create a fresh and playful abstract composition in this new work by Calgary artist Aron Hill. The viewer’s eye is drawn to the simple outline of a plant in black ink.
“Each element in my paintings can be seen on their own, as an artifact, as an object whose reference can shift not dissimilar from a stage where a flower vase can serve as mere decoration in one play and a murder weapon in another." Aron Hill
Hill obtained a BFA in Interdisciplinary Studies from the Alberta College of Art and Design and their MFA from Goldsmiths College, University of London in 2006. They have exhibited across Canada and in Dubai. Hill’s work is held in private and corporate collections.
