Lively and colourful, Aron Hill’s abstract paintings explore colour and form. This fun graphic piece in Kelly green is rendered as a shield-like shape on a white shaped panel. A black line adds interest. The entire painting is rimmed with gold leaf—an inspired detail that casts a reflective glow. Hill’s vibrant colours and form are reminiscent of modernists like Canadian Jack Bush and the shaped colour field paintings of American artist Ellsworth Kelly.
“The idea of pureness in terms of colour and shape and that hard edge has always appealed.” Aron Hill
