About Two Stacked Rocks with Tree

The power of black and white-- Aron Hill, known for their graphic and colourful minimalist compositions has new paintings that play with a pared-down palette. Two organic shapes in jet black anchor the piece; an archway frames the silhouette of a tree in white. Hill is inspired by the modernist work of abstract artists like Jack Bush.

“The paintings are primarily demonstrative of light and transparency, a stage for the painted object.” Aron Hill

They obtained a BFA in Interdisciplinary Studies from the Alberta College of Art and Design and their MFA from Goldsmiths College, University of London in 2006. They have exhibited across Canada and in Dubai. Hill’s work is held in private and corporate collections.
