About Yellow Magenta 1 & 2
Lively and colourful, Aron Hill’s abstract paintings explore colour and form. Inspired by the vivid colours of modernists like Jack Bush, Hill plays with natural and geometric shapes and a bright colour palette to create fresh, contemporary work. This piece features two tapered—icicle-like panels in white with bright yellow scalloped edge detail and a fine magenta line running through their center. Gold leaf outlines the shapes casting reflective highlights. They obtained a BFA in Interdisciplinary Studies from the Alberta College of Art and Design and their MFA from Goldsmiths College, University of London in 2006. They have exhibited across Canada and in Dubai. Hill’s work is held in private and corporate collections.
