About Fugue 4

In this lively painting by modernist Burton Kramer a mirrored geometric pattern
is enhanced by a complimentary soft colour palette of blues, pinks, yellows, and taupe.
The title ‘Fugue’ refers to a musical composition in which themes are repeated and imitated by continuous vocal parts. Like 20th century European painter Wassily Kandinsky, renowned for his experiments with color and music, Kramer explores the language of visual forms and sound.

“To fully experience music, one needs a receptive ear. To fully experience these paintings the viewer needs to taste the color, hear and feel the rhythms, the mood, the music.” Burton Kramer
