Elegantly curved columns of corten steel appear to float in mid-air in this outdoor sculpture by Claude Millette. The Quebec artist is known for his imaginative abstract work that plays with the viewer’s perception of balance and imbalance. Over time, the steel will naturally acquire a rust-coloured patina. “Though staunchly non-figurative, my productions are not strictly abstractions per se: from the moment the gesture expresses an emotion or a reflection, the work is imbued with feeling.” Claude Millette Born in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec, Millette studied at the École de sculpture de Saint-Jean-Port-Joli and apprenticed with sculptors Robert Poulin and Jordi Bonet. Millette's works have been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions.
