Equilibrium VI Claude Millette

Corten Steel
118 × 79 × 59 inches
299.72 × 200.66 × 149.86 cm

In this dynamic sculpture by artist Claude Millette corten steel is shaped into a right-angled curve and sits on a narrow stand. Corten steel, in time, will naturally rust but maintains its integrity. Millette’s work is always non-figurative and it captures powerful impressions that play with the viewer’s perception of balance and imbalance. “Though staunchly non-figurative, my productions are not strictly abstractions per se: from the moment the gesture expresses an emotion or a reflection, the work is imbued with feeling.” Claude Millette Born in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec, Millette studied at the École de sculpture de Saint-Jean-Port-Joli and apprenticed with sculptors Robert Poulin and Jordi Bonet. Millette's works have been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions.
