Tiny dark buildings are perched on a ledge within a complex scaffold of moving lines and shapes in brushed ochre, light grey, turquoise and sky blue in this mixed media work on canvas. The abstracted environment in this large cityscape is representative of Sarrazin's dream-like approach to landscape. Sarrazin holds a Master's Degree in Visual Arts from UQAM and a Bachelor's degree in Art from Concordia University. She has been a teacher at the École des Arts Visuels et Médiatiques at UQAM since 2000. Sarrazin obtained from UQAM, a Fellowship (2013/2014) for a project of hybrid large format paintings. She has exhibited in Quebec and Ontario. “Dominique Sarrazin's works are alive with a lyrical metamorphosis caught in a solid and luminous burst. The artist also galvanizes a design of the world in which structures go beyond their composition and open themselves to the essence of the colors, totally mastered under a spiritual lighting effect. The collection is mature and rich which leaves the gaze in a state of continuous spectacle." Annie Lafleur, art critic Sarrazin's work is held in private and corporate collections including Deloitte & Touche, Alliance Mutual Life, Pratt & Whitney, Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt, the Royal Bank of Canada as well as many public collections. These include Montreal University, the City of Saint-Leonard, City of Baie Saint-Paul, Laval University, the Canada Council Art Bank and the Musée du Québec.
