Following a successful career as an art director for a graphic design and advertising firm in Montreal, F. Lipari began painting full time. His realist paintings are carefully conceived with centralized, iconic buildings or figures and a slightly flattened space. Lipari’s use of precise lines and an over all light almost without shadow further emphasize the austere and elegant nature of his compositions. Lipari’s works bring to mind those of Canadian painters Alex Colville or Christopher Pratt. Through a restrained use of formal elements Lipari sharpens our focus on the almost ethereal essence of his subjects.
