Clean lines, pure forms and thin washes of subtle colours characterize the stunning work of Francis Lipari. The Montreal born artist’s paintings are traditionally inspired by his love of nature. His landscapes and architectural elements are minimal—uncluttered exposing simple beauty. With Redemption, Lipari has focused on a ‘state of the art’ barn, three silos and a fine line of water in the distance form a backdrop, a single tree adds colour to the overall pale gray-blue, black and earthy palette.
“I like horizons, wide open spaces, and a very minimalist approach. There’s a feeling of grandeur. It comes from, as a kid, being powerless, feeling so small. My life is so little in the big picture of things.” -F. Lipari
He was born in 1959 in Montreal and attended the University of Quebec where he acquired a business degree and majored in marketing. Lipari had a successful career as an art director for a graphic design and advertising firm and then began painting full time in his early fifties. His work is collected in both the U.S. and Canada.
