He has been making art since he was in Grade one. Canadian sculptor Floyd Elzinga has always had a profound love and respect for nature. Now living on the Niagara escarpment in Ontario, the forests that surround his home provide constant inspiration. Elzinga’s iconic series of pine cones—this one in weathering steel are both realistic and exquisite in their detail. His pinecone sculptures have been featured as part of Toronto’s Scotiabank Nuit Blanche celebration of contemporary art, and his work is held in collections across Ontario and in the US. Elzinga received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Nova Scotia
