About Pas Seul

It is a stunningly elegant bronze sculpture. A lone woman walks, her stride is wide, her arms swing at her sides, her head is turned to one side. This is Frances Semple.
The Canadian artist is known for her use of simple dynamic shapes that convey deep emotion. ‘Pas Seul’ means ‘not alone’ in French.

“One of my long-standing curiosities is the way internal and external forces pass through our lives leaving their mark like weather on a landscape. I use the human figure as a vehicle to explore the form and textures from these observations." Frances Semple
