A figure squats, head held in his hands in this dramatic steel sculpture by Mississippi artist Jason Kimes. This outdoor sculpture is made from coin-sized discs of corten steel which naturally weathers over time acquiring a beautiful rust-coloured patina. Kimes’ sculptures are designed to be subjects of contemplation. "Public art competes with every sound, color, movement, and any one of a thousand other distractions pulling a viewer's attention away from a still and quiet work of art." Jason Kimes He completed a BFA in Sculpture from the University of Southern Mississippi and a MFA in Sculpture from Southern Illinois University in 2005. Since then, he has completed multiple commissions and taken part in exhibitions across the US. His work is held in private and corporate collections.
