About Edge of Place
Toronto’s Julie Himel is known for her evocative use of colour and abstracted form in her landscapes. This piece is rendered in a melange of rich, earthy browns highlighted by creamy yellow, a patch of dark red and a pale blue sky in the background. She completed a BFA at York University with additional studies at the Toronto School of Art and Langara College in Vancouver. Himel has been painting professionally for more than 20 years. Her award-winning paintings can be found in private, corporate and public collections.
