A pristine blanket of snow covers a farmer’s field in this lovely composition by Julie Himel.
Known for her evocative use of colour, this plein air painting is rendered in earthy tones of brown, yellow and white—a touch of pink and a pale blue sky in the background.
Himel is a devoted environmentalist and hopes her work makes a statement to preserve the natural beauty of the world.
“Being in nature and then coming out of it, processing what I experienced there and then going into the studio and bringing that to life…that’s where the magic happens for me.” Julie Himel
She completed a BFA at York University with additional studies at the Toronto School of Art and Langara College in Vancouver. Himel has been painting professionally for more than 20 years. Her award-winning paintings can be found in private, corporate and public collections.
This en plein air impasto landscape is framed, 7.25 x 7.25 inches.
