About Raining Red
Pat Service was inspired to create a series of paintings using the natural form of trees and foliage. In this engaging piece, the tree trunk with subtle ‘bark-like’ markings stands tall on the canvas in natural light gray hues punctuated by a pop of bright yellow and red rain drops. Service is exploring minimalist form and colour here in a fresh and imaginative way.“Colour, line, texture and composition are the players; the playground is the canvas.”
Pat Service
She acquired a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of B.C. and later studied art at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland. Service’s work is held in private collections in North America, Britain, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
