Brilliant colours draw the viewer along for ‘the ride’ in this lyrical minimalist painting by Pat Service. Bold lines in yellow define the landscape, mountains in the distance, the road curving past country fields. Over the years many road trips down the trans-Canada highway have provided Service with rich mental pictures of the simple beauty of the Canadian landscape. She acquired a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of B.C. and later studied art at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland. Service’s work is held in private collections in North America, Britain, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
