A majestic palm stands tall amidst a tangle of tropical plants in this landscape by Peter Hoffer. The Canadian artist is known for creating romantic paintings reminiscent of master landscape artists such as Britain’s John Constable. This tree portrait is thoroughly modern. The palm is set against a turquoise sky with curated drippings of pink, yellow and lime green and a glossy resin finish that adds luminosity.
"You start seeing the scratches… and the blobs of paint, and the drips, and to me that's what is communicating the true landscape, the layers. That's what's interesting." Peter Hoffer
