Painting on a raw surface of plywood Hoffer's tree expands on a cloud of paint. Encased in resin, he then sprays the surface with bands of paint. Peter Hoffer’s landscapes have one foot in classic realism and the other in deconstruction. He uses mixed media on wood with high gloss resin – the imagery is rendered in realism but ultimately expressed as a modern commodity.
