About Four Ring Temps Zero Blue

Quebec artist Phillipe Pallafray’s highly polished contemporary sculptures are designed to reflect light. In this intriguing tabletop piece, four stainless steel rings of varying sizes set at different angles to one another have been painted a bright turquoise blue on the interior. Pallafray favours using industrial materials forged into organic shapes to represent the natural world. ‘Temps Zero’ translates from French as ‘no time’ or timeless suggesting that the intersecting circles are without end.

“What is removed from the sculptures, the voluntary emptiness, recalls the ephemeral and fragile nature of life.” Phillipe Pallafray
