About Contemplation

The meticulously polished mirrored face reflects the world outside this expressive abstract sculpture. This is the work of R. Clarke Ellis. His minimalist pieces are often theatrical in nature but imply a more serious subject. Here a human-like figure made from steel sits upon high, on elevated stool arms at their side and face glossy reflecting the world around as well as the viewers face back at themselves. Contemplating.

‘Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.’ Theodor Seuss Geisel (Dr. Seuss)
“The “humanness” of the figures speaks to the viewer to elicit a memory.`` Clarke-Ellis
