About the Work
A male figure looks towards the ground as he falls back-first, legs akimbo and arms stretched skyward in this green patinated bronze sculpture. The lively figure is rendered with an active, textured surface stamped with enigmatic numbers and shapes. The dynamic use of space inherent in the forms of this work that is No. 5 from the "Equilibrium" series points thematically to a loss of balance and the struggle sometimes to find proper footing. This table top sized bronze has a gray painted metal base and is number one in an edition of 10. There are five in the series offered at $15,000. for the set. There is the possibility of wall mounting these works as well. Self-taught artist Sylvain Louis-Seize, originally from Montréal, lives and works in Calgary, Alberta.
