About the Work

A dramatic totem of two life sized figures -- the first on his head with feet providing a platform for the second -- is cast in resin, carved and painted in gold and blue. The title of this tall outdoor sculpture reveals its meaning, a symbolic point of connection between higher and lower realms, between Heaven and Earth. Ted Fullerton, RCA, has worked in painting, drawing, printmaking and sculpture since graduating from the Ontario College of Art in 1976. He has been awarded grants from the Canada Council and the Ontario Arts Council. Fullerton’s artwork is included in numerous private, corporate and public collections including the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington, the City of Barrie, the City of Guelph, The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, The Winnipeg Art Gallery, the MacDonald Stewart Art Gallery and Sculpture Park and more.
