Taking caricature portraiture to a new level, Viktor Mitic has portrayed 'Marc' in the guise of a zombified 1950s radio announcer. The bright blocks of colour combined with the burned-out cavities left by bullets create provocative tension between the playful vacuity of pop and the destructive violence associated with the gun. Strategically executed bullet holes pierce the canvas creating a friction between creation and destruction and ask the viewer to confront ideas surrounding the normalization and glorification of violence in contemporary culture.
