About Evanescence
A vivid green shifts into deep blue beneath a dynamic mix of grey and black. Running through the center, a series of flowing lines seems to both connect and divide the space, suggesting a story that continues beyond the edges of the canvas. There’s a sense of movement and direction, inviting the viewer to follow along. In this work, Teichert explores a new medium and colour palette, bringing a quieter, more nuanced approach to her visual language. Her signature line is still bold, but here it acts more like a subtle break between forms—a place where light seeps in. Soft streaks of white pigment draw the eye outward into fields of rich, layered colour.
Throughout the painting, solid circles and ovals of colour act as visual anchors. They pop up at intervals, almost rhythmically, guiding your gaze across the surface and giving you moments to pause before moving on.
