About Text - Whistle 9/36

In a symphony of colour and form, Alice Teichert created more than 40 black ink and acrylic drawings on mylar, which she transferred to silk screens. ‘The Text is Still Unwritten’ is a series of 8 serigraphs made using these drawings, carefully chosen for each piece until the desired image was achieved. Teichert’s background in typography, her use of colour as a language and her love of music are evident in the text-like markings of each print. This serigraph, number nine of thirty-six, is in colours of lime green and white punctuated by black, red and turquoise.

“These drawings represent many layers of thought…and by adding colour, the notations become playful.” Alice Teichert
