About Wave

The palette of Wave carries a calm, grounded elegance, earthy and soothing. In this piece, Teichert works with a new medium and color palette, embracing a more subtle form of communication. Her flowing line, while clearly present, feels like a quiet break in the surface—a space between forms where light gently slips through.

Soft streaks of white pigment stretch from this central line, pulling the viewer’s eye into rich, layered fields of color. These areas are deep and vibrant, almost immersive—if not for the presence of rounded shapes in solid tones. These circular and oblong forms act like visual pauses, appearing at steady intervals and guiding the eye rhythmically across the canvas, gently drawing attention in and out of the composition.

Alice Teichert, RCA, was born in Paris, France, in 1959. She studied music, philosophy and visual arts in Belgium and France. Since 1989, she has built an international career with over 40 solo exhibitions in Canada, France, Switzerland, Germany and Australia.
The recipient of numerous awards, in 2024, she was inducted into the prestigious Royal Canadian Academy of Arts (RCA) in recognition of her exceptional contribution to the visual arts. Alice Teichert’s paintings are held in many private, corporate and public collections worldwide.
