The clean, graphic lines of two bold shapes dominate the canvas in this new work by Aron Hill. The Calgary born artist, known for their colourful pop art pieces is now playing with a pared down palette of jet-black and crisp white. Hill’s work is inspired by the renowned modernist paintings of Jack Bush.

“The paintings are primarily demonstrative of light and transparency, a stage for the painted object.” Aron Hill

They obtained a BFA in Interdisciplinary Studies from the Alberta College of Art and Design and their MFA from Goldsmiths College, University of London in 2006. They have exhibited across Canada and in Dubai. Hill’s work is held in private and corporate collections.
