About Bright Night Sky with Moon

Aron Hill’s work is reminiscent of the bold, dynamic form and colour palette of Canadian modernists like Jack Bush. A new series of works on paper features the Calgary born artist’s characteristic graphic shapes inspired by nature. Two leaf-like shapes on the ground in red and white, a crescent moon in turquoise hangs in the sky across from a bright yellow sun—the backdrop a neutral soft gray.

They obtained a BFA in Interdisciplinary Studies from the Alberta College of Art and Design and their MFA from Goldsmiths College, University of London in 2006. They have exhibited across Canada and in Dubai. Hill’s work is held in private and corporate collections.
