Aron Hill’s colourful, abstract work often tells a story that invites the viewer in. Here the Calgary artist’s imagery suggests a cross, a sun and a road. Bold shapes are rendered in washes of pure colour—green, blue, purple, pink, orange, yellow and white offset against jet black. The artistic influences of modernist Jack Bush—minimal form and vivid colour is evident here.

They obtained a BFA in Interdisciplinary Studies from the Alberta College of Art and Design and their MFA from Goldsmiths College, University of London in 2006. They have exhibited across Canada and in Dubai. Hill’s work is held in private and corporate collections.
