“The inspiration for the work comes from a cat named Rebecca that I feed in my studio. Probably because of her visits to the studio and my affection for her, I wanted to make a small statue of a cat.” Benny Katz

Benny Katz was born in Brazil in 1973. His family emigrated to Israel in 1978. After graduating from the graphic design program at Technion in Tel Aviv in 2000, Katz pursued a career in commercial design. At the same time, he developed a practice in conceptual art working in sculpture and painting.
Katz’s artworks are exhibited in galleries in North America and are held in many private collections worldwide.
