Signed Chas. D. Ward, dd 1932.Charles Daniel Ward (British, 1872-1935) was born in Taunton, Somerset, UK, and studied at the Royal College of Art in London. He resided in Chelsea and Blewbury, Oxfordshire, where he painted portraits, landscapes, allegory scenes and still life compositions in oil. This accomplished trompe l'oeil still life by Ward signed "Chas. D. Ward" and dated 1932. Ward exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1898 to 1932 as well as the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and worked by commission. Ward is represented in public collections that include the Dahesh Museum of Art, New York, the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum, in Coventry, UK, Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton, Somerset, UK.
