About It Was Fascination I Know 5/10
In brilliant, bright colours Charles Pachter pays homage to his long-time friend, the Canadian writer Margaret Atwood. This fun Andy Warhol-like portrait—a serigraph shows the iconic author sporting orange wings, a caterpillar ‘pen’ in hand—a clever reference to metamorphosis? The colour palette--bright yellow, purple, black and pink.Pachter is a much-admired Canadian artistic polymath, his colourful contemporary artwork merges playful even irreverent elements with deeply iconic imagery. Edition 5 of 10.
“Life is full of serendipitous meetings; chance meetings and I was lucky enough to meet Margaret Atwood when we were both summer camp counsellors in the sixties. She became my muse and my mentor.” Charles Pachter
