About Days End
As the light falls towards the end of the day, the forest grows ever darker. This moody, serene landscape is by Ciba Karisik. Known for his highly realistic work, the artist has captured a forest during fall when the leaves are just turning to golden yellow and brown. The deep blue of the sky and a soft yellow-green meadow provides a lovely contrasting backdrop to the autumn colours. The forest floor is a melange of colours—wild flowers in yellow, cornflower blue and white.“My flower-filled retreats provide a feast for the eyes.” Ciba Karisik
In 1985, he completed a bachelor’s and master’s degree in painting at the Sarajevo Academy of Fine Art. In 1992, Karisik immigrated to Canada where he continued his career. Since then, he has produced a significant body of work and exhibited regularly in solo and group exhibitions. His paintings are held in international corporate and private collections including those of Brian Mulroney, Alex Trebek, Martin Short, Martha Stewart and U2’s Bono.
