About October's Cover
This oil landscape painting of fall leaves is by Ciba Karisik. The rich tapestry of colour and form found on a forest floor is captured in this faithful portrayal of fall leaves. Ciba Karisik finds endless joy and inspiration in the dynamic form and colours found in nature.
“In Canada, we are lucky to witness dramatic seasonal changes that show themselves in an ever-evolving carousel of forms and colours. In a forest, these transitions are most pronounced, and it’s a joy to immortalize these metamorphoses in paint.” Ciba Karisik
Ciba Karisik completed a bachelor’s degree in 1985 and a master’s in painting at the Sarajevo Academy of Fine Arts. In 1992, Karisik immigrated to Canada, where he continued his career. Since then, he has produced a significant body of work and exhibited regularly in solo and group exhibitions. His paintings are held in international corporate and private collections in Canada, the US, England and Europe.
