About Road Less Taken
Named perhaps for Robert Frost’s famous poem, this lovely oil painting is by Ciba Karisik. Known best for his highly realistic work, Karisek often celebrates nature’s beauty—a place of refuge and peace for the artist. In this piece, a path sits in the center of the frame and winds off through a forest glade. Sunlight illuminates the earthy landscape and filters through the bright green of the trees caught in full foliage. The colour palette is fresh—greens, yellow, a touch of red, white, black and brown.“These paintings are triumphs of greenery.” Ciba Karisik
In 1985, he completed a bachelor’s and master’s degree in painting at the Sarajevo Academy of Fine Art. In 1992, Karisik immigrated to Canada where he continued his career. Since then, he has produced a significant body of work and exhibited regularly in solo and group exhibitions. His paintings are held in international corporate and private collections including those of Brian Mulroney, Alex Trebek, Martin Short, Martha Stewart and U2’s Bono.
