About The Seedling
This contemporary abstract acrylic painting is inspired by nature.Claudia Jean McCabe has been exploring colour, organic form and texture in her sublime artwork for more than three decades. The Seedling is a subtle piece created using seed-embedded hand-made paper. The addition of layers of mixed media including sand, ‘weathered’ string and acrylic paint resulted in a highly textured, almost sculptural surface. The subdued palette--soft opaque gray hues underscore a sense of stillness.
“The Seedling celebrates quiet new beginnings and the resilience found in nature's smallest acts. A fragile seedling breaks through the upper edge of the composition, embodying growth, renewal, and the promises of what is yet to come... ‘Like the flower that shattered the stone.’ (John Denver, 1990, Earth Stones)” claudia jean mccabe
