About Balance AP/7

A bronze hand, modelled after the artist’s own, balances on its index finger atop a sphere in this imaginative pop art sculpture by Dave Sheridan. Called ‘Balance’ this piece was inspired by recent world events and our collective challenge to find some balance in our lives. By using basic shapes and contrasting colours—a square of black granite and a ball of white marble, the artist symbolizes the many conflicts that have dominated the headlines.

“The last two years we have all been balancing our lives on some very basic issues ie. mental and physical health, isolation vs freedom, right wing vs left wing politics, carbon usage vs green technology, etc” Dave Sheridan
