About Hockey Series 3 of 3

Celebrated American photographer David Levinthal is probably best known for his imaginative use of toys to document powerful historical and cultural images. His work has been lauded for exploring the relationship of photography to the myths, history and popular culture of the American psyche. Levinthal creates these captivating photos using large format Polaroid photography. In the hockey series of photos, Levinthal’s tendency to blur images brings a dynamic quality to the work that suggests motion. The effect is almost cinematic.
One in a series of three action shots depicting players on the ice.
