About Moonlight

This contemporary painting by Fiona Ackerman references moonlight.

The bold artistic vision of Vancouver painter Fiona Ackerman is often inspired by nature. This painting entitled ‘Moonlight’ is a carefully collaged composition, its central form a lyrical swath of white that flows down the center of the canvas. Layers of shapes, expressive lines, shadowy images and textured features provide the backdrop. Graffiti-like black markings—a signature of Ackerman’s work adds intriguing detail and contrast. The colour palette is an eclectic mix of deep green, red, pale pink, cement gray and black.

“I’m often asked what kind of painter I am. Figurative, abstract, small, large, digital, botanical, surrealist, mural... I just say yes to all of it.” Fiona Ackerman
