Sculptor Floyd Elzinga favours using iconic Canadian imagery in his unique contemporary metalwork. The pinecone has become one of his signature forms valued for its superb detail. Hand forged from corten steel; this small tabletop sculpture has a refined and reflective silver finish.

Floyd Elzinga received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design in Halifax, NS. Elzinga has been an artist in residence in both India and Vietnam. At the foot of Everest, he had the unique experience of creating art from collected waste and in Hanoi, he attended a symposium that attracted sculptors from all over the world to build and install pieces in South East Asia’s largest sculpture park. Floyd Elzinga’s pinecone sculptures have been featured as part of Toronto’s Scotiabank Nuit Blanche celebration of contemporary art, and his work is held in collections across Ontario and the US. He lives and works in Niagara, Ontario.
