This mixed media contemporary abstract painting is a vivid blue colour.

Ivo Stoyanov’s work is bold, colourful and dynamic. Inspired by nature’s colours, form and textures, he creates uniquely complex compositions that express palpable energy.

“I begin with a neutral background as a layered mindscape, using spontaneous brushstrokes, various textures, marks and stains. This serves as a support for large geometric structures, which are aesthetically, balanced shapes of colour, creating a composition with visual tension (addition, subtraction, rotation, concentration, movement, directionality, order…) and emotional value.”

This lively piece in a vivid blue against an expressive backdrop of white and black is made from a combination of acrylic paint, marble dust and cold wax. Stoyanov’s method creates a lush visible texture that enhances the geometric forms. One of a series.

Ivo Stoyanov received a master’s degree in Mural Painting from the Fine Arts Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria (1990). Stoyanov has been commissioned to create major mural projects in the US, Bulgaria and Canada.
His artwork is collected in the US, Canada, Japan, the UK, China, the United Arab Emirates, Spain and Bulgaria.
