Jay Li

(b.1962, Guangzhou, China) Jay Li graduated from the Fine Art Academy of Guangzhou and taught at the Fine Art Teachers College of Canton. Li’s painterly approach and love of colour anchors his images – fans, typewriters, and simple objects are loosely rendered. Vintage objects are often in the foreground of colour field backgrounds, giving them a contemporary edge. Li has shown across Canada and in Greece, Holland, Australia and China.
